I fell into the gaming industry purely by accident. I was hired to help with a website and ended up working and learning Unreal Engine.
I've always had a curiosity about how things work and have taken things apart ever since I was a kid. I love using that knowledge to make things work in ways they weren't intended.
Oh the satisfaction of telling my tv to turn on and the tv turns on, lights fade and my chosen movie starts. The future is now.
Web Development is a skill I've learned along the way. I've not only taken a full stack Web Development class but have also interned at a small startup where I learned to code with 3D rendered images.
An address book written in JavaScript using browser local storage for storing contacts and cucumber for testing.
A food ordering application written in Ruby on Rails. Designed after The Simpsons "Moe's Tavern".
This is a news website built on the Ruby on Rails framework. It allows visitors to view both inhouse and sourced news articles.
One of my earliest memories is my father playing Atari 2600 with me. 'Pac-Man', 'Space Invaders'... We even had 'E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial' known for contributing to the video game crash of 1983.
1988. The discover of skateboarding and punkrock. I'll never forget flipping through 'Thrasher Magazine' and reading about all these underground bands that would soon change my life. Once I read about 'Milo Aukerman', the singer of 'The Descendents', going to college to study molecular biology. At that point I knew I didn't have to live in a gutter to be punk.
In the early 2000's I got to tour the U.S. in a van and grace stages (basements) while singing for a punk band. Although this didn't pay the bills, it did give me a hunger to see something other than the sunny California weather. In 2010 I moved to Frankfurt, Germany where I started my life as a bartender.
After moving back to the states for a bit, I met my 'Sambo'. We decided to move to Sweden in 2015 and have been here since.
In 2018 I found out about 'Craft Academy Coding Bootcamp' through a colleague at work and decided to take the plunge and enroll. Through all the headaches and frustrations of learning, I feel it has been well worth it. The more I learn, the more I love it.
Needs an update
"As with everything, this is a learning process. I've taught myself OSINT to Password Cracking. Using numerous tools (Metasploit, Nmap, Hashcat, BadUSB, etc.) and operating systems (Windows, Linux and MacOS) I've become a bit of a hobbyist and would love to turn it into a career."
I love tinkering and experimenting. Raspberry Pi is perfect for that. It's become a hobby of mine just to see what kind of things I can do with it.
I've been a record collector for a long time. There's no better feeling than finding that rare gem vinyl burried in a second hand store. Check out my discogs profile as well as a spotify playlist I made. You can tell a lot about a person based on their music collection.
My Discogs Profile"Alexa, Turn on the TV."
Alexa turns on the tv, sound-bar, Nvidia Shield, changes the channel to my favorite, and then dims and colors the Philips Hue lights. This is magic and I want to learn more!
What can I say about gaming that I haven't already said? It's been a part of my world for as long as I can remember.
